You asked for it! The most requested enquiry in our studio is "Do you teach floristry?". If you have wondered 'how to make your flowers last longer' or 'how to get the stem to stay there', then you are invited to be a part of our Floral Design classes every Saturday afternoon 1.30 PM to 4.30PM starting on 8th October and running for 6 weeks. 

As a pupil you are eligible for a 20% discount on all fresh and silk flowers plus gifts including arrangements from the studio floor for the period of the 7 week term (i.e. from your enrollment date to 19/11/11), but not including delivery fees or Interflora relay orders.

 

During the course, each week you will take home an arrangement you have created and learn about floral design, flower grading and identification, flower care, vase hygiene and recognising diseases and common cut flower menaces and how to minimise them to ensure flower longevity. 

 

Tuition fees $275 - 6 weeks

 

Flowers, foliages and sundries $275 - 6 arrangements.

 

Saturday afternoon 1.30 PM to 4.30PM with light refreshments provided.

Classes for beginners/hobby (unlocking the secrets of floral design)

During the course you will create several designs to take home and learn about flower grading and identification, flower care, vase hygiene and recognizing diseases and common cut flower menaces and how to minimize them to ensure longevity.

 

1.      Strauss bouquet – how to make any bunch of flowers look great in any vase 08/10/11

 

2.      Classic posy table centrepiece – The purpose of and use of floral foam 15/10/11

 

3.      Basket arrangement – mastering the design and completion of a basket arrangement- with options for adding in gifts/gourmet food or fruit and wrapping 22/10/11           

 

4.      Corsage in classic design of dendrobium orchids – using modern applications and attachments 29/10/11

 

5.      Working with silk flowers – construction and completion of a table arrangement with dry (sec) oasis 05/11/11

 

6.      Christmas arrangement – floral wreath of fresh flowers and foliages suitable for door entry or table centrepiece. 12/11/11

 

Break up party 19/11/11 and demonstration of ‘Christmas themed table arrangements on a budget’ with silent auction of completed arrangements afterwards, this is an open invitation to all and you are invited to bring along a guest.

Prices include all flowers and sundries for the lessons. On payment of your tuition fees and for the period of the 7 week term (i.e. from enrolment date to 19/11/11), you are eligible for a 20% discount on all fresh and silk flowers plus gifts including arrangements from the studio floor but not including delivery fees or Interflora relay orders.

 

Classes will run according to interest with a minimum of 4 and maximum of 10.  No tuition fees will be taken until the minimum numbers are achieved. Payment of tuition fees due on notification of minimum numbers being reached. Flowers and foliages are paid with your tuition fees or by 6 instalments.
